Dennis is our building expert and joined us 15 years ago. He is a time served bricklayer by trade, but, now in his fifties, he has long since extended his repertoire and takes pole position whenever we need to build partitions or walls, or just sort out a room which may have suffered from unfortunate past experiences. Dennis knows the value of a spirit level and keeps the rest of the lads on their toes when critical fixing is needed. He enjoys working on his boats and travelling with his family in the local area. When asked if he wanted anything of interest on the website he replied ‘milk and 2 sugars please’

Tony recently slipped past the big 4-0. He has been with us for twelve years and had worked as a drainage engineer before that. His build and qualifications sadly put him first in line to work in confined spaces or at close quarters with the less popular aspects of plumbing waste products. Nevertheless he is a popular and highly respected member of the team and is allowed to carry out all the more pleasant tasks above ground. Tony is a family man who supports and helps coach the Goole youth football teams (Parkside Raiders) even though his own young footballers have now grown into senior players.

Ian came to us straight from school as an apprentice. He completed his apprenticeship with excellent results and has now been with us for 12 years. He was trained from the start in the special skills needed to construct a complete modern bathroom. This includes all the technologies associated with walk in showers, high pressure systems, pumps and other specialist systems. Ian is qualified at NVQ level 3 for domestic electrical installations. He is a stalwart of the local Howden Cricket club and greats each spring with anticipation and work on the pavilion and the wicket.
Service 8 years
Curtis also came to us straight from school. He has qualified and completed his apprenticeship and has become a valuable member of the team. He has successfully channelled his early excess youthful exuberances into his trademark youthful enthusiasm and energy. He is especially welcome on jobs requiring that extra bit of physical effort and concentration, but as always, a fine and controlled finish. Curtis has been with us 8 years and has a job for life if we can keep him.
Service 19 years
James was our first apprentice. He came to us as from sixth form choosing a practical career with a local company. He has been with us now for 19 years! and he is part of the fabric of Aquarius. James is highly skilled and experienced in all aspects of bathroom construction. He also retrained a number of years ago to meet the new part P electrical requirements for domestic installations, testing and certification. He is now fully qualified and is registered with NICEIC to oversee all aspects of the electrical requirements of our bathrooms. James is a keen and active member of Howden cricket club and a general all round sportsman.

Adam is the new kid on the block as he has only been with us for 6 years! He came to us from the motor trade and is now just passing the not so big 3-0. He has been ‘retrained’ in house and specialises in general room building, product installation and tiling. His hobbies include mountain biking and snowboarding indicating a general leaning toward the ‘adrenaline’ sports. Despite what in ‘Aquarius’ terms is a relatively short time with us, Adam has become a skilled and trusted team member with a particular knack for good humour and cheerfulness even when the going gets tough.

Andy is our ex-installer turned designer. It was clear from the start (straight from school again) that he would waltz through his training and quickly become a highly skilled tradesman. He has now been with us for 18 years and made the successful move to the showroom about 9 years ago. Andy is the one you are most likely to meet in the early stages of buying an Aquarius bathroom. His cheerful and helpful disposition and his ability to turn a customer’s ideas into an impressive individual design is one of the corner stones of the Aquarius experience. Andy is our third keen local cricketer, a renowned all rounder with winter outings for the Howden football teams.

Graham is a director and co-owner of Aquarius. He is probably the first person you will meet and looks after all aspects of the showroom and sales. Before starting the company 26 years ago with Co owner Rick he worked in the electronics industry (pre-silicone chip!). He will help you through the whole process of design and quotation and hopefully scheduling of your installation. Graham is a keen gardener, would like to be a keener golfer and enjoys photography and travel. As a co-founder of Aquarius he is jointly responsible for the company philosophy which puts customer satisfaction and a clear conscience above profit margins. This guarantees a good night’s sleep even if it has thus far eluded other more conventional ideas of wealth.

Rick is the other director and co-owner of Aquarius. He will look after your project once the date has been set. He will sort out any technical details your design requires, keep you informed of the production process and arrange payment details and any aftersales requirements. Rick was a civil servant before starting in business with Graham and had travelled and run other smaller businesses before that. He has recently revisited the realms of academic study in order to ‘keep in shape’ completing an OU degree in physics in 2009. His other interests are summer and winter climbing and he dabbles in music and the arts.

The newest recruit to the Aquarius team. George, also known as gorgeous, is currently following in the same footsteps as James, Andy, Ian and Curtis through our in-house apprenticeship scheme. He has recently completed and passed his NVQ 2 Plumbing and Mechanical services and is now working towards NVQ level 3.
Retired to his much loved caravan after 9 yrs service. August 2012
Bob has been with us for 9 years. We poached him from a friendly associate company in the area specializing in gas and heating. Bob is our most mature fitter (just the wrong side of 60) and has been a plumber and gas fitter for more years than he will admit. A local ‘lad’ he has had a varied career including a time in South Africa plying his trade in the lucrative mining industry. He now enjoys the peaceful existence of a home in the rural East Riding and, we hope, a pleasant workplace where his skills are appreciated.
Retired to grandchildren duties and the garden after 15 yrs service. June 2012
Steve came to us from the declining shipbuilding industry. He is a time served piping engineer and has installed systems carrying almost unthinkable pressures in his time. All our fitters are multiskilled and Steve was more than happy to trade his machine tools for the varied toolkit of the bathroom installer. Steve, now in his fifties, has been with us for 15 years. He is a keen gardener and has a natural flair for the balance and order of things in constructing a bathroom. He particularly enjoys the switch from ‘rip out’ and technical first fixing to the careful and rewarding practice of wall tiling and finishing.
